Only a 0.3°C difference in the average temperature from August to September, wow.
But i would say September will be more on par with the years previous september, so it evened it self out you could say.
Can someone check what last years Septembers average temperature (around the Waikato) was so we can double check.

Mean temperature here of 13.7°C, quite similar to August but slightly higher. 82mm rain total with 72mm of this falling in the last 8 days of the month.

It should be noted that 4 of the 5 places with largest sunshine anomalies are new EWS sites. How much of that is due to better site capture of available sunshine (as opposed to some inconsistency with previous Campbell-Stokes recorders) is moot.
