The cloud within the circle is dense clumps of high cloud. It certainly indicates an area of upper instability. But the cells are not surfaced based and not Cumulonimbus.

Browsing through last nights sounding the Invercargill one indicated a bit of instability down there. At this time of year it is only likely to result in oregraphic showers/ts in the Fiordland ranges. :)

12.45pm Fine with 22C in central AK.

Last nights upper air soundings have a summery look to them.

Overcast (stratocumulus) in AK but will clear to a fine warm day. :)

The satellite map doesnt look as though its going to clear We never get two days in a row like yesterday :evil:

Michael, a clearance is imminent as the flow over us moves more into the SE.

Cleared up about 4pm here and nice night with Aldebaran,Mars and El Nath all lined up in a horizontal row and Venus and Saturn to add to it :D
