Looks somewhat unsettled in many parts of NZ this coming Saturday, but I'm hoping it's not too bad for Chch in the evening (at least nothing more than a few brief showers) for Xmas in the park. Depends on how quickly the predicted front will move away on the day.

Who cares about Christmas in the park, what about Sunday for Pearl Jam at AMI stadium.

I have been praying all week that Saturday is fine as this game of cricket I have against East Shirley is the game I have been looking forward to all season. Every GFS run is showing a worse forecast for us here in CHCH. Looks shocking with rain and some heavy falls possible at the moment. Better change. We need to hope the high to the south strengthens and pushes the front further north.

What I've read from Metservice for Chch on Saturday, is rain developing early morning, then easing to a few showers. A few showers wouldn't be too bad; just hope any period of rain clears up by no later than mid/late afternoon.

Yeah the GFS shows steady rain Saturday easing to showers overnight Sat. Hopefully it misses us entirely!

Im out fishing this day, fingers crossed the southerly is coastal, will be up springs junction way.

Well, I've got one to top you all! I'm gettting MARRIED on Saturday! But weather won't really be an issue for us, so no big drama!

Thats a shame Andrew what if theres a THUNDERSTORM!!
Us guys would be chasing " if free" and you couldnt come join ur weather mates but it doesn't matter! very big day for you and big congrates at that.

Nice-ish day in chch today just bit of scrappy hgh cloud about and a cool-ISH NE if i was correct.
Not much in the way of exciting extreme weather happening at the moment so just trying to keep track of whats going on.
Currently quite mild going by jeffs weather station.. 11.9Ca light N-NE wind.

Drizzle ceased earlier this afternoon, though it's still cloudy and cold.

Apparently 11C in Ch, with a fresh northeasterly and cloudy....would feel quite "seasonal" in the lead up to a NH Christmas!

Interesting.
Strugged to get into double figures here today and the persistence of cloud cover helped to keep it around 9C with the NE wind.
