22.1 C currently out... sunny and very warm here presently... took this approx 5 mins ago...

Cu line coming in from off the tasman facing west

It seems we have a storm developing, the storm so far gave out 1 big clap of thunder so far. Hopefully it will intensify a bit more.

I see there is a bit of lightning showing up just off Cape Reinga DT-NZ good west of here too :)

Low/ medium cloud starting to break here, can see some nice towering Cu around, 20C, dewpoint 17C, light winds.

A nice red/purple blotch on radar over the tasman atm.

Yea!!! skies look great from here overhead and looking out west - bout the best fun I've had all week... *chuckle*...

its growing and rotating south - looks dark and black... will upload a couple of pics... nevermind... I may not have got me thunderstorm, hail and lightning today... but, I hope you guys furthur south get some awesome action _b

Apologies Vertigo... it maybe the way how I observe and describe things... what I meant was I watched it turn the base of that cloud hook around, turn and rotate towards the south. I watched it pass over the left of my shoulder and I am facing west.... hence why I said it did not make quite this far over towards me on the east.. I watched it.

Hi can anyone update and tell me whats happening out there? while I was typing my message to Vertigo... I went out to have a look and theres suddenly all this fog coming in... over the sea...

Hi Vertigo... at the base or bottom of the cloud in the first image (forgive my weather terminology and not being techical, apologies ) that is what I observed turn, rotate I watched it... and I was abit disappointed because it did'nt come this way towards me.

Well the sun came out here earlier and temps rose to 23º, clouds were bubbling up madly, now cloudy and 1 crack of thunder has been heard :mrgreen:

MS have now issued a sever thunderstorm watch for all of auckland and from whangarei down to hamilton along the west coast. http://www.metservice.co.nz/national/wa ... torm-watch

Just had a whopper of a downpour here, dropped the temp instantly so there is hail in them thar storms..
Now its just spat out a couple of CG's as it goes over Bombay. Very nice.
