Summer starts today
6am, humid 19C at Whangarei, a lovely 2C at Invercargill.

Pea-soup rolled in here at 7am this morn.

A good start to summer in Chch... drizzel and cloud, light easterly and 11 degrees.

Is there something wrong with a Christchurch radar? It has been down for a while.....

It has been down for 28 hours or so. Very strange to be down so long. Great new site at Metservice though!

Had alot of these clouds today - these images were taken at approx 11:00hrs.

Top left : California Hill looking SW || Top right : Looking over fields towards Kaitaia way.

Bottom left: Awanui township looking south || Bottom right: Driving north out of Awanui.

Fine and sunny in Ashburton now,18 degrees with a dewpoint of 14
Still lools very overcast and cool in ChCh temp 13

Yes quite uncomfortable here late this afternoon when the NE was replaced by W-NW breezes - temp rise from 23º to 25.8º with that change.

ah, I wondered why auckland got so hot...it was with the NW wind, warming up over the land between the city and Kaipara

27 degrees and a 19 dewpoint would give a decent heat index in Aucks,around 30.
27 down here would feel like a 23-24

Its really warm, tropo and humid here at the moment... just awful... makes me sick and I can't stand it - anyway... take care.

Morning, well checked the temp approx 5mins ago and it read 18.2 C out, low cloud over the bay, still there is a nice light breeze which is refreshing...

Summer underway, a muggy low of 18C for Auckland.
Hopefully some rain shortly, garden needs a good drink.

8mm here today. Seems to have cleared. 12.9 degrees and a spec of blue sky, first presence for December that I have seen

At 1218pm (Metservice)

CHCH 12.9 degrees = feels like of 12 degrees 0.2mm last hour.
Ashburton 9.7 degrees = feels like of 6 degrees 1.4mm last hour.

Oh does anyone know what is with Canterbury radar. It has been over 2 days.

YAY! finally the CHCH radar is going again. Only took almost 3 days.

wet here today 16.5mm cool as well only a high of 10.2 degrees

Thats more than double the rainfall we got here.

hell its muggy here. Milking is no fun at all. In the last 31 days the largest rainfall we have had in one day is 8.2mm. the next highest is 6.2mm. Have had 7mm today but not nearly enough. All this moisture in the air is just playing games with people that need rain.
