Yes bit of a dud chase today unfortunately :(
Andrew, Aaron and I sat there for a good two hours waiting paitantly for something to come up but nothing eventuated :(
However we did see a nice CB line to the south towards Omarama where there was apparently a thunderstorm going off at the time.
Oh well we gave it a crack!! next time :D :-w

Only some drizzle so far near Akaroa, since the southerly (gusty now) arrived nearly 2 hours ago.

Well folks, I'm back from the West Coast and nothing much really to report weatherwize over there except it was really 'persisting' down today. I heard a rumble of thunder just before leaving Greymouth but that was it.
Didn't hang around for anything much else as the sky was 8/8 Ns with heavy rain right through from there to just the other side of Arthur's Pass. If it had been thundery you wouldn't of seen anything anyway. I can see the difference from thundery rain to the term thunderstorms.
Never looked thundery/tornadoic even on Thursday when we had another bout of heavy rain over there.
Apart from that it was either warm and humid or cold with the southerly.
Also I managed to get my photo on the front page of last Tuesday January the 5th Greymouth Star :D with some idiots doing morris dancing o_O

Hmmm... The lightning radar is showing strikes just off raglan and the rain radar shows some interesting bands of precipitation heading our way. I wonder if we may end up getting something here?

Well that was a bit of a fizzer, didn't get many exciting pictures, just overcast dark cloud, meh.

Here are some pics anyway. I also took 3 short videos because I realised my camera could take video (duh!) They're currently uploading so I'll post the links soon.

Just really heavy rain here about half an hour ago. Can't cook tea as all the pots are in use catching the waterfalls in the conservatory again :x :x
