This next line looks to be coming our way as well, looks like it's going to blow up like the last one.

I agree I can already see it from here, LOL
It seems it has some CB's in it too, it may very well intensify as it comes over land as heat is radiated better by land than water.

this thing should fire up very quickly when it hits the warm land. its warm and very sticky. so plenty of fuel for the fire and the cooling aloft. it looks like it will pass over hamilton this afternoon which is even better. im going to take a camera this afternoon. and if things are still going strong at 5.30 ill chase.

Kinda was but also wasnt kidding, yes I did grab the mobile and attempted to take some photos, also grabbed the missus one which might have some better resolution images on it but in the end, by the time I had registered what was happening it was almost too late.

Nice hefty troppo style shower just came through as usual while driving back up here, white out, lots of surface water, no thunder heard from myself or any of the boys here.

That last shower line fired up with some lightning near the coast North of Orewa, still going by the look of the detector. DP still around 19 and the temp had risen to around 24 C

I see in metservice's latest outlook:
"Thunderstorms have been affecting eastern parts of Auckland this afternoon, with heavy rain and hail. These storms should move out into the Hauraki Gulf late afternoon and weaken."

had a very intense strom roll over in taupiri at 5.15. Here at my parents they missed it. but heck it was intense. heavy heavy rain, 10mm in under 10 minutes and thunder at the same time as the lightning. lost count of the rumbles but the tracker shows it peaked at 23 in one minute which doesnt suprise me one bit. im now happy :)

i just checked the lightning tracker on the weather computer. 12 strikes withing 5km from here, which in a striaght line puts it not all that far away from where i am working. it must have only just mised here.

sun is out again and its a steam room out there.

but I can see some better CB's about to move onto us from the NW
its like a spring weather pattern today!
