The papakura one has all but collapsed on itself now but still thundering away quite nicely.
Had about 5 mins of light rain, but they were very big cold drops.

I'd be picking the rainfall rate, I was just on the edge here in Henderson by the looks of it and picked up a couple of mm very quickly. Looking at it from the North Shore earlier it had some pretty dark looking rain shafts which would have been very wet underneath if the cell became slow movingPeter wrote:Another pic - supposedly these are "severe warned" but I don't see it really

The last hour it has been non stop rain (heavy, great call by MS for warning this storm, certainly justified) and heaps of thunder with some very close CG strikes nearby.. still thundering away now.

Darn looked great towards Taupo, get here and it died
Heading back into the Waikato now, up SH1 and hope my luck changes.
The person who sent me a text this morning from a Vodafone mobile ending in 3856 who's phone is now going to messaging, can you please identify yourself cause I don't know who you are.
I've got some photo's I'll post later if/when I get decent coverage.

I am currently at Tuakau wondering where to go next. Saw some magnificent CG's about 30 minutes ago as I turned off at Bombay, but nothing since. Although there is thunder out south west.
