I had a high of 32.9C, if anyone's interested.
This was just before the easterly sprang up around 10 to three.

Think Chch Aero actually got down to 6.2C this morn, after early morn fog.

We went from 17.6C here at 3am last night to 27.3C at 2:25pm this arvo and its currently about 21C at 10:45pm with DPs rising to a sticky 17C.

Interesting you've been getting warmer than here, especially with you being out on a small island in the gulf ;)
ENE coastal breeze here today kept my max to 26.0°C...

Yes, possibly yesterday's morning cloud burnt off a little sooner here allowing more land heating.

Btw, 'small' is relative. Waiheke has about 92 sq km of mostly hilly terrain. Temps and rainfall can vary considerably over the space of just a few kms. Westerlies usually provide the most interesting variation. Being funnelled from the Waitemata Harbour they tend to be split by the island, often resulting in rain on the S side and bright sunshine on the N'ern side.
NZstorm wrote:Waiheke Island has been promoted in the past as being warmer than Auckland.
Well... at least that's what the tourist-brochures will tell you. The average temp is actually very similar. However, I think I'd be safe in saying that we get more sunshine.

Low of 18.5C here 6:40am this morn.

Waiheke Island has been promoted in the past as being warmer than Auckland.
Waiheke will get less cloud on the spring /early summer SW flows and will get less seabreeze convergence cloud but I reckon more cloud on the NE flows.

For contruction yes.

NW around 30kph, gusts to 48kph. So 29 would usually be active atm. But its not terribly strong. Would be fun to go spotting on 02 and watch the tomahawks land. :yum:. Im just glad i dont have stalls at the Canterbury aero club till next Thursday(please be good weather)

I use my Scanner for Weather forcasts

About 31C now with the NW. So much for 27C. Thats three above 30's in a row!

Another warm morning. Up to 26 degrees with a NW breeze. No sun around at the moment although it is threatening to come out soon. May get 3rd day in a row at or above 30 degrees if we get some sunshine before the change.
