We had audible thunder here at Puketapu from around 1300, as a small cell worked its way in from the SW. Rain started at 1310, and increased to a nice little downpour for about 30 mins. Highest instantaneous rainfall rate recorded was 53mm/hr, logged by the weather station at 13:22. The rain then eased to light drizzly stuff, eventually petering out completely by 1600. Total rainfall for the "event" was just 11.0mm, so it wasn't a "real" thunderstorm!
