Today's NZ National High Temp 24C for Invercargill???

Today's national high of 24C for Invercargill must be quite unusuual

They must of had a northerly to do that as the sun at mid day is only the same height(30 Deg) above the horizon as here on the shortest day.

In early 1998 I was there on holiday(also its the only time I been there!) and it had 30 degrees and they said it was the hottest day in 20 years 8)

Morning Cloud clearing and fine here today...

Strange how the puddles are deep and I got quite wet walking out to the car :?

Morning Cloud clearing and fine here today...
You were better off than Chch - both foggy and drizzly early this morning in the central city, then only a slow improvement through the day, with variably cloud in afternoon. But a pea-souper has returned to Chch again this evening with slight drizzle now.

It must have been very localised as I only got 17.8 in central Invercargill

Yes, I checked other places around Invercargill and they were about your temp. I presume the readings are taken at the airport, or around Tim Shadbolt??
....a little bit of localised heat all-right :)

and not a bad day here in Invergiggle again, until the late rain.

It doesn't look too promising for the rest of the week though. Maybe a clap or two or Thursday?
