Down to minus One already here in West Melton but the temperature is fluctuating much more than last night so it probably wont be as cold.

Had a cloud cover come over about nine last night but disappeared during the night sometime,still managed to reach -8,and we have last our water to the house dam it all,you wont get me joining any frost societies John

First two frosts for the year here with 1.2C on Sat and 3.2C Sun.

Interesting to see 1 or 2 central North Island 'official' min-temps fall over the weekend. Turangi apparently recorded its lowest all-time temp of -7.3C on Sun, although records only began in 1996. And Taumarunui's -6.3C on Sun was just shy of its all-time record of -6.4C set in 1954, since records began 1947. Other notable temps, although far from records, were -6.6C at Waiouru on Sun and -6.4C at the Chateau on both Sat and Sun.

UPDATE:: Turangi recorded -7.6C this morn (Mon) and Taumarunui -6.8C.

Down to -5C here in Kaiapoi this morning and -7C up at work near Darfeild, no scattered cloud or NE you see.
Lots of ice on the roads with very big patches along shaded places, had to knock a good 10-15km off the actual travel speed.
Even ice still on the roads in shaded places at lunchtime, and an accident near Tai Tapu apparently this morning not sure if it was ice related.

Yep down to 0C here with none of that wind and cloud that some have in Chch, might have to get the crampons out if this keeps up as the path to the wood shed is getting many layers of ice on it now
