The base of those huge towering black ominous CB lines that pulled through here from the west 30mins ago most diffinately had a green tinge

Only managed 2.6mm here from about 1pm with distant rumbles heard, although eastern parts of Waiheke may have got more by the looks.

Keep those reports coming in fella's, nothing but continous boring sunshine here.
Looks like a first bite at winter this Friday coming for eastern South Island regions, bringing snow down to around 400-500m for the first time this year would you believe.

Went out about 1 1/2 hours ago for a bit of a drive.

Filthy mess passed over without so much as a bang, but lots of rain.

Has come out reasonably clear now, with that big band of rain heading south.

A couple of CB's bubbled up way out west on the coast.

Ok here a couple of pics, the CB itself is very messy looking (which is why it probably isnt giving out much lightning)

BOP could be the next area most likely to get a small tornado?

the squall line that came through here had the potential to drop a funnel :)

although M/S now have a watch out for taranaki

some nice CB tops way to my west :)

Brian, Keep an eye out to your NW, it seems a small line of CB's may clip the Manuakau Heads.

One thing I never heard is "squall warnings" in general reports, usaully was wind warnings or thunderstorm warnings though they used to say showers could be squally?

The trough was quite obvious on my weather graphs:
Has any1 else got this on their own 1s?

If tomorrow is good, who's free to do some chasing?

Yes, I love being able to see the sudden changes in the weather variables on my graphs when things like troughs go through.

Today showed a drop in temperature with the heavy shower, a small upward pressure spike and a temporary wind shift to the NW:
