Not as much precipitation from the main rain band as expected. It lost a lot of oompth overnight. Maybe the odd occassional drizzly shower today but nothing much it seems.

Rain quite heavily for about the last 20 minutes out near Akaroa; was just drizzling before. Southerly wind is fresh and gusty.

Steady drizzle here for the last half hour has started back up. Paddocks within the area completely waterlogged, some with very little grass visible due to surface water. Have work at AMI today for the warriors game so will be interesting to see how the weather is for the game as the drizzle is affecting mainly eastern suburbs. I see the forecast is for scattered rain or drizzle, especially about the coast. Blue skies saying fine with scrappy high cloud so should be interesting. Id be more inclined to go with Blue Skies personally looking at this one, shall see though.

I'm getting sick of this 'Clagg' :x
No sunshine for a few days now and persistent low cloud with a drizzle shower popping up now and then.
Mind you the cloud did thin to see the eclipse last night :D
Looks like the rest of the month will be 'claggy' here. Yuck :(

From 11am this morning it hasnt stopped drizzling all day. The radar doesnt have much on it though. Speaking of that though a more persistent band looks like it is close to moving into the city.,

The clag has been even worse here. Will later post some details of some highly undesirable records or near-records being set here (related to low sun, frequency of rain days).

Looks as though all this nastiness has caused some slippages/landslides/etc out Little River way, cutting off the main road to and from Akaroa:

Weve had quite a lot of showers on many days, even on the clear days last week tues-thurs there were showers enough that the washing couldnt easily be dried.Last winter though colder had much less showers.

Nice and sunny here in Richmond, a few clouds during the day but they managed to steer clear of the sun. :)

Crisp night though obviously, down to 3.2C already on my thermometer.

Thick low cloud to fog here this morning. Another 6mm overnight from constant drizzle it seems. Just a very light mist out there at the moment.

Clear and sunny at the airport this morning, foggy and dull in town.

Also drove up to Castle Hill yesterday, clear and sunny from about Darfield onwards, while coastal areas would have been clagged with drizzle all day. Lovely day in the mountains yesterday, thats for sure

Fog down at work all day (about 10km south of Invercargill), wasn't until I hit town that it cleared.

Slips cleared off highway this morning, but lots of them still visble from Little River to Motukarara, as well as many low-lying farmland and swampy areas under water late this afternoon. Where I was (west side of Akaroa Harbour) there was only about 3/4-1 hour of heavy rain Sunday morning, with drizzle for the rest of the day, and streams weren't that high. (though ground was very damp) Maybe there was quite abit more rain where the highway was blocked and back towards Chch on BP.

Looks like no real rain in the forecast for a week or so. I doubt we will see anything today, its very weak the system now for this part and there is also fog about which doesnt look promising. Chance for things to dry out.

Nice day here today  (supposed to be getting showers)
Looks like June this year is not going to have had a single frost, that's fairly unusual
