Just falling below the magical 0C mark here. :)

It sounds as though personal weather stations will be watched as much if not more than the tellie tonight!

This has happened quite often here, when the thermometer has dipped below zero then has risen again and then dropped away towards the earlier hours of the morning..

May not get a frost here tonight, not as cold as it was at this time yesterday. Still, will have to wait and see...

Had a bit of wind up earlier but now it dropped off and so has the temp... again, spiked for a short while.
Should be good for the match tonight @ Eden Park.. lots of dew means some messy play!

Might be frost-free here tonight, unless that high cloud which has been hanging around all day goes away

Looked like the Northshore to east Auckland was mostly affected by that high cloud, it was a mostly sunny day here.

Location of cloud currently

Stunning stunning day up mt ruapehu today. Not a cloud in the entire sky all day and hardly a breath of wind. some incredible frost scenes as the sun came up on the drive down.

Are you referring to last night cause I posted that comment on Saturday night for Sunday mornings frost, not this mornings frost. Got down to -5 officially at airport and was -4.5 in my neck of the woods. Last night was not as cold as I thought because there was some cloud cover and an early NE. Infact surpirsed it was -1 with a NE breeze out there at 7am this morning. Although, quite a lot of frosty white footpaths and roads that hadnt been used much. Trucks were laying out grit in some of the more shaded areas.

Hey there CWC- whoops yea last night was -1. Saturday got down to -4.

Did seem a lot icier this morning even though much 'warmer' perhaps due to the very light NE flow creating moisture accross town?- it was much calmer and 'drier" on Saturday. Saw some idiots nearly losing their cars on local roads this morning

This anticyclone is odd, every night the wind does not die out as one might expect....no wonder it has not been a big frost producer up this way.
