And only a matter of time before someone ends up in an accident when the bridge decides to give way, will it really take that sort of thing to happen before they do something.
Funny thing is they fixed the main northern motorway bridge by putting in new bridge gaurds, but nothing done to the old one.

Back on topic another 5mm since 5:30pm so within the hour, light to moderate falls.

[quote="Talbotm" I would love to know how much rainfall a place needs before a full :-k warning????[/quote]

For a severe weather warning with MetService I believe there needs to be more than 50mm expected within 6 hrs or 100mm within 24hrs and needs to be a widespread occurance .

Nice orographic cloud over north Westland today, as depicted in the noon sat pic from MetService.
A reverse of Canterbury's NW Arch, possibly ?
No wonder it was warm over there today, 17C in Westport and 16C in Greymouth whereas we only got a scundgy 8.6C maximum here in West Melton o_O
