Mmm had a nice view of it earlier.. no lightning in it however that I can see right now (just poked my head out the door for a few minutes)
Some nice beefy showers came through up to around lunchtime when the sun finally made an appearance, pretty chunky unstable looking bases so doesnt surprise me that Tim captured what he did.. good stuff!

Warm mild morning today when the sun got out. Fresh northeast this afternoon. Sunshine hours today! Anyhow, Im not sure why the Metservice have rain forecast to develop tonight and then for drizzle to turn to rain tomorrow. I dont see it being anything other than dry really....probably very cloudy and overcast but I definately dont see any 'rain' for us.

A few brief spots of rain here around half past 7 tonight, few large drops didnt last long though and was very isolated by the looks.
It was nice to see the sunshine today, bring out all those budding trees into life.
Maybe the odd patch of rain here and there tomorrow perhaps, but the end of the week is looking a tad milder with a northerly flow and SUNSHINE :D .
Never thought id be wishing for sun as it should be storms i am wishing for

Surprisingly persistent and soaking rain here between 10.45pm and midnight last night, 6mm in an hour (looks like Grey Lynn barely managed 1mm in that same time frame)

Tomorrow depending on heating there may be possible thunder with some showers :)

500mb temps are expected to be around -22 to -24°C which is cold but that depends on the sun to get something going.( but since we are not in October+, I am a little doubtful) Otherwise it seems showers may be in the forecast for parts of the North Island.
LCL is expected to be around 700 Meters AGL.

A good week here in Christchurch. Plenty of sunshine and no rain. Temps certainly feeling springy now. Things have dried out nicely!

Currently a balmy 16 degrees !
