The hills that i can see Michael are to the east and would have to be about 400m,its raining to heavy to see the taller ones to the west though. There's another hill to the south that can just make out but cant tell if there's snow on top or not.
I would think the south level is higher the further north you go

Yes, its a north south thing as far as cold air goes with the coldest air over South Canterbury. Thats where the overlap between the heavy precip/cold air is occurring.

Had a dusting of snow here in Arrowtown last night before precip eased, a good coating over the Mnts. Skii fields around here needed snow, I see Coronet Peak has 45Cm new snow from yesterday.

Sitting on 13.5mm here so far, been pretty steady rain since 2am, a lack of strong/gusty windy so far is surprising.

Oh shush! yeah alright, alright! I'll eat my hat for this one! Very nice band over here. Little orange spec over the city at present keeping it more moderate at the moment but some heavier periods as well. I was out RAIN chasing, heathcote getting high. Need few more hours of good steady rain yet for it to burst.Razor wrote:Leighton must be out drizzle chasing
