Re: General September Weather
Well out forecast has been the same over the past 5 days. "Earthquakes, some frequent and heavy." Im hoping the next couple of days will see "earthquakes easing and becoming few and far between!"

A weak heat shower here too. Tomorrow looks reasonably stable in our area but further south, isolated pm cb could develop in the Taranaki area.

8 mm over night on top of 6mm two days ago is enough to maintain the water logged ground around these parts.

Seems our 'mostly fine' day (what MS said) has become mostly cloudy...sighspwill wrote:Partly cloudy morning for Auckland, currently 17C.
Would have liked a sunny day before a mostly cloudy unsettled weekend (my 2 week break ends this week)

Broke up pretty quickly it seemed as it moved over Invercargill, would someone with more knowledge than me be able to clarify what sort of cloud that is/was?

Do you realise that our winter has been kind of a non event compared to the east coast of the SI?? And even if the forecast rubbish next week happens, we'll suck it up as a novelty, lol.Weetbicks wrote:ahh good ol Invers, I knew there was a reason I left.
As quick as those thunderstorms/rain arrived...it's gone.

Re: General September Weather
A gust front there mattyj46, also known as a shelf cloud. Its caused by outflow from the thunderstorm that developed near Invercargill. Great photos.

Re: General September Weather
Nice to see Invercargill get a thunderstorm.
I feel that after the events of recents days here in Canterbury, the last thing that people want here is booming to come from above instead from below.
