Re: General September Weather
Im back online!!!!! Up on the roof in the wind and rain. Wind would have been gusting 60+ km/h. Was pretty scary. In my hurried attempt to get it going i must have not set one of the transmitter ID's correctly. That will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to be set right. Other than the wind everything is running sweet!

I know, it gives far more accurate echos for the Central North island/Waikato/BOP.tgsnoopy wrote: That is from the Mamaku Radar, it's line of sight to Southern Lake Taupo, Turangi and the Volcanic Plateau
Very pleased with how its performing.

Re: General September Weather
I will be correct. Dunedin Airport averages about 8 gales a year but 46knots would be very rare there. But I wonder though whether the reading was accurate.NZstorm wrote:The 46kt average at Dunedin airport would be a very rare occurrence there. Its not an area prone to gale force winds. Maybe a 1/20 year event.

I wouldn't push that one too hard
That 1972 reading is amazing. That would have been part of the big blow that hit Canterbury.

Most of the strong wind at Dunedin Airport will be from the SW, it is exposed to that direction.

Far too warm overnight, not used to 15C dewpoints. Had to open a window at 7am this morning and go back to bed, LOL

the BOP radar is showing clear deficiencies in the auckland radar today. seems there is a shadow that the auckland radar cant see past.
