Moderate rain here now with sleet mixed in currently 3.9 degrees.

A gustfront tried to form as it approached the city, but never got its act on. Raining now and very gusty.

Yes. A very poor effort observed from here but I wasn't expecting much as a too much too high surface air pressure with this change.
Raining since 3:15pm here.

Gone quiet here... 1.9degrees, snowing well, beginning to settle on car; grass was wet of course but is going white as I watch.

Sky has that sort of snowy look to it especially westward. Down to 4.8C here, near the overnight low we had overnight. Still raining but the wind has dropped alot.

Light snow now settling above about 500m as the rain continues out here. Seems like I've returned to winter instead of spring.

1.5degrees and still snowing, flakes are smaller now than they were to start with. Looks like a very wet snow. Grass white.

Looks like most of the cold air went up through mid canterbury. Its stopped raining here now breifly snowed but nothing settled. Managed to get 8mm of rain snow settled down to 350m.

Snowing down to approx 160 metres, inland from Ashburton,around 10km west of town.Petered out to sleet below that level.Brighter to the south now.

Just back from a day trip up Mt Oxford. Extremely windy norwest til about 2.30pm when it died. Had great views of the change sweeping north but no precipitation on us til about 3.30pm- looked like it stalled over the Waimak River. Rain/sleet mix setting in back at the carpark at the bottom at View Hill 380m asl.

Very surprised to see the snow at Methven races on the news!

Rain has all but stopped here. 4mm in total. Looks brighter to South. 7pm radar shows quick clearance in the rain band but maybe a few chain showers might pop up in behind. Will be interesting to see how some of the gutters cope in the worse affected areas from the quake.

Yeah, absolutly pissing down! Snow already, only 3 degrees now. I suppose it would have to be around 1 or something to snow here.

Had sleet, more like snow for a time for about 5 minutes. Decided to go up the hills and caught a heavy snow shower up there as well with it settling on the car windscreens around victoria park. Changed back to sleet so came back down.

Last night's emergence from the TC looked a wee bit more impressive that today's cold front, but then it was nothing except for the rain that dropped from it.
Could of been heavier judging from the virga looking falls trhat were coming from off the cloud.

No hail here, but rain has got alot heavier with sleet mixed in and down to 4C.
Rain hasnt stopped here at all, so the rain radar isnt actually correct but it does look like some wintry showers are mixing in with the rain band here.
Fairly good rumble before too and it wasnt thunder.
