Nice high freezing level, thats for sure. Was about 2770m when I measured it earlier.

Nice light winds up there. Its odd, was 100kt+ winds up there only 48 hours ago.

Clear skies here, looks like the temperature has flattened out now at 19C. Seems odd to me that we're a week from November and the highest temperature I've had is 20C. Aren't we supposed to get average to above average temps this Spring/summer

Yes, I think we have had a poor spring in Auckland. Waiting for the humid weather to arrive now and hopefully some weather interest with it.

Atleast some nice holiday weather, currently clear 19C .

19.9C here. :D

Yep, a very cool month overall so far. Also very dry, except for East Cape to Wairarapa. And very sunny, especially in the South Island.

Quite interesting to see that difference, your high was 16C today and up to 19-20C for here and Grey Lynn. Shows the sun light must be getting strong  Not sure where the official high of 21 came from today, certainly doesn't represent what most of Auckland had.

Tomorrow (Sunday) should be a slightly warmer day for Auckland as we lose the SW. Flow goes around to light NE and hopefully its too early in the season for sea breeze convergence cloud. A weak upper trough out to the north of NZ will possibly thicken the high cloud a bit.

I suspect that was taken from Whenuapai - quite a bit warmer on the North Shore and out west today by the looks. Also don't forget that Brian is about 90m asl - nearby Clarks Beach managed over 19C today.

The 21C could have been 20.6C, not a huge temp spread across Ak today.

You're ages inland though! Auckland airport was only around 17 this afternoon when I was looking on Metservice site - of course it is exposed to the SW wind that was blowing today (and there is not really any land to heat up the air before it gets there)

I dont have much land heating from the SW wind, being only 2km inland!
not sure how good the instrument shelter is with the Clarks Beach station...wouldnt mind visiting that station one day...
