NZstorm wrote:Tomorrow (Sunday) should be a slightly warmer day for Auckland as we lose the SW. Flow goes around to light NE and hopefully its too early in the season for sea breeze convergence cloud. A weak upper trough out to the north of NZ will possibly thicken the high cloud a bit.
I see the sea breezes have developed, SW at the Airport with 16C, NNE here with 17C. Might struggle to reach 20C here today with that sea breeze (I'm not inland enough)

20º here again with a light breeze from the .. nowhere now.
Love it (just came out of Pukke tho, seemed a lot hotter in there, I blame urban heat island effect.)

{ED:} If that Pukke site is the new official one, its actually at Puni, elevated slightly higher than Pukke central, I tried to have the setup here but missed out by a matter of hours, should read the local paper more often.

Hi Dale, the above figure is actually from a NIWA EWS at Crop & Food Research, about 2 km W of Pukekohe Central and about 88m asl. Not sure where MetService's site is and I believe WeatherWise also have a professional site out there.

P.S. Have you finally dusted off your PWS?

Currently 19.9C here again.

Got to 24degrees here also, now falling back again, to 22.6 at the moment. Quite pleasant, if breezy NW. 34% humidity, which was 42% earlier if I remember correctly.

Dunno where our sun has gone, overcast and around 20 deg. Temp has gone up about 3 degrees in the last hour with the wind turning NW, hopefully this cloud will push off and we will get a nice evening.

Well another nice day here, but again an unimpressive high of only 19.7C
High cloud has increased as you suggested NZStorm ;)

Nice NW arch over the plains and chch now, which means we may get a nice blast of sun for 20 minutes before sunset as consolation for an overcast day :)

I decided at the last minute to race out to the north end of the airport on my bike, battled a good NW'er to get there in time but made it, and took some pics of a great sunset, here are just a few, link to the rest : http://www.flickr.com/photos/weetbicks/ ... 103816565/

check out the MS chart for 1pm next Saturday, almost 1050hPa SE of NZ!

Has hit 21.8C here today, easily the warmest so far. A bit surprising considering we have a NE sea breeze
