Thunderstorms Canterbury 19th & 21st October!!

Looking a good set up and with MS having a high risk.
Some good gale force winds when the change comes through, and hail size could even be about the same as today 10-15mm maybe.
I dont know why MS havnt mentioned about the hail in the thunder outlook, as it is a cold blast coming up so hail is definatly likly.
Change looks to sweep through south canterbury around early afternoon and mid to north canterbury late afternoon/evening.

It should be good to have some rumblings from above instead of from below for a change :D
I know which ones I prefer. :-w

It will have that "early spring storm" feel to it, working to 4pm so may miss it other than my 180 degree view to the south and port hills from work!

Ill be knocking off about 4pmish id say, maybe earlier. we'll see.
Id have to say there would be hail in with any storm activity witch may accour, will have to see.
Certainly a reasonable chance when they put a high risk out!
Some nice height and structure to some of the Towering CU out there today, and reports of thunder/hail inland.
Nothing in the city i heard though.
:)
cheers

Down to a moderate risk now. Looks like much of the South Island moderate risk sometime today as well.

No southerly here yet, but 5pm radar suggests the change is really moving up quick.
Possible storm developing inland from Rakaia perhaps.

Im afraid to say i think judging by the atmostphere it looks very dry, and nothing seems to look great at all, potential will be low now.

Southerly arrived at 5.18pm. Wispy grey cloud rushing in multiple directions; some appearing to form as I watch - coming from the north. Odd. Temp. dropped from 14.2 to 12.1 now.

Rain radar looking impressive. Gale SW has just arrived and blown spring blossom everywhere round our front yard- looks like snow
