Sorry, I was talking about Tuesday and today. ;)
Anyway, here is the shot of the hailstones. I had to put them in the freezer the time for me to get my camera so they had the time to melt a little bit. One of them had a very distinct "cluster" shape (not visible on the picture, sorry).

I think metservice did a poor job with this one
Valid to: 12:00am Friday 22 October 2010
Issued at: 8:33am Thursday 21 October 2010

A cold front is expected to move over the lower North Island this morning and reach Gisborne this afternoon. There is a low risk of thunderstorms associated with the front from north Canterbury, up the Kaikoura Coast, the Marlborough Sounds and western ranges of Nelson, about the lower North Island and eastern North Island. There is a moderate risk of thunderstorms in Manawatu, Kapiti,Wellington and Wairarapa this morning and in Gisborne this afternoon. These are expected to bring brief heavy rain and squally wind gusts.
Could have at least updated it as the storm became apparent on there radar, Ive seen watches on worst looking storms before from them!

Turnd out to be a great day today :D not really predicted at all either.
I noticed the clouds this morning looked interesting and with certainly very cold air!
And things just started to shape up nicely around 11am there was no doubt in my mind we were in for thunder!!
Took some phone pics from where i was at work, and saw some nice lightning.
Back home near the port hills dad tells me had some decent size hail around the size of the kool mint lollies.
AWESOME!

I was up a little too late dammit, lol. Dam my complacency! Missed out on the main storm although I saw it go out to sea. I headed back towards the airport as there was a weak area of clouds going up and all I could really focus on, nothing happened there though apart from some rain shafts I could see falling.

I was down the very end of Harewood Road.

Those pictures were a bit bigger then I was expecting! First time I've used my new phone to upload pictures like that, there is a resizing option on my phone so think I'll do that before uploading them as that would save on bandwidth to.

Cheers
