Re: General November Weather
I was just wondering what's actually falling in Christchurch as I look at the demolition of Manchester Courts on http://democam.iopen.co.nz/ipcam/manchester/ - very slow raindrops or what? edit to add: Back Cam.

Re: General November Weather
So far 22.8mm recorded since 10am here. Drop size has been large at times with bursts up to 23mm/h but the rain rate has been slowly easing as it moves NNE.

Re: General November Weather
Yes. A wet day here with some rain falling which helps to make it wet.
Constant rain from late morning. Good for the ground as we have had lots of blue dome days recently, which is good for photosynthesising but with the sunshine strength burning the grass and the cold easterly winds that have been blowing across it, and the lack of rain or any sort of precipitation, having been not doing much for the growth.
This rain is quite usefull.

Re: General November Weather
Wet wet wet, not just the band either sure has produced alot of welcome rain as i thought it would.
Heavy at times from afternoon although has eased somewhat now to a lighter rain, up to 19mm of rain so far.
Southerly has become a tad stronger and gusty too, which will make kicking conditions tonight not great.

Re: General November Weather
Looks like the typical crop showers coming inbehind the rain band on the 7pm radar, so maybe some tiny hail in some showers tonight.

Re: General November Weather
This incoming anticyclone doesnt look as good as the last one, pure SW component to it much of the period, though a couple of calmer days hopefully before my roof looks thatched and any willy nilly breeze blows needles off the roof with no difference to the remainder,we need perodically good wind from other directions to counter balance it which fortunately this year has been from april till now.

Re: General November Weather
Just about out of puff with the showers now which is good, up to 24mm from this event which will go well for a few weeks now.
Wind was quite strong and sqaully last night when the showers pummeled on through.

We've only had gusts around 43 km/h.....not that bad!
I look forward to the return of the warmer days though.

Re: General November Weather
Certainly cleared up pretty quick, calm outside and not a cloud in sight, well there wasn't before it got dark, but I'm sure there are no clouds out there still
