Moderate rain here (3-4mm/h) with a light NE breeze. A welcome 6mm so far since about 10:30 :)

The rain in Kaukapakapa is gone again was about 3 minutes need a lot more rain for the water tank

The heavier rain has reached here now with rates up to 14mm/h and another 4mm.

Winds fairly strong here in Okaihau now. Rain has eased off however.

Steady Heavy rain in Westport. Buller Gorge road blocked completely by two slips.

Been for a gander outside, its seriously wet here, almost as wet as ChCh can get. will be a good test of earthquake damaged drainage and river systems if this keeps up....

A bit steamier than normal here in Tawa today.
temp 24.8C DP 20.1 humidity 75%

Feels very much like one of those steamy Bay of Plenty summertime days...
Gives the place a bit of a holiday air :yum: Ice cream weather.

Only light drizzle on and off so far.

Yes indeed. Just went for a drive around hoonhay and around my area in Halswell and plenty of surface water with entire widths of roads under water. Another 3-4 hours of this rainfall would be interesting! Although that is not likely.

Too much for my lettuce :( Just got soaked trying to shelter them !

It's one of the longest spells of heavy rain here that I can remember... :-k

Looks like much of Canterbury is getting some decent rain. Just patchy falls here only 4mm so far.

Rain band has shrunk in size with clearance at the northern and southern part of the tail, maybe another hour possibly longer of good solid rain.
