Some heavy falls here overnight - 90mm from yesterday arvo till late this morn, plus 16.5mm from the previous day. :crazy:

Funnily enough all records seem to be using a midnight reset where I am looking (finally phasing out the stupid 9 AM reset :) )

Just over 11mmm so far in the Eastern suburbs of Wellington...
Rain rate is certainly on the rise, but hitting at only 2.5mm/hr (peak of 5mm/hr just after 2pm), so nothing like that up north
Has not got over 14 deg so far today, and the wind seems to be getting gustier (but is just a mild breeze still!)
Cloud level down to about the top of Melrose (approx 100m), but planes still coming and going at the airport.
Will be a miserable evening for a game of footie at the Stadium.

I took the 110mm from the Environment Waikato site. The Met Service AWS has 111mm in the 24hrs to midday.

Some Lightning has come out of a line just West of the NI, North of Taranaki.

89mm total here, after the 23mm Fri evening/night. Blustery NE here around the middle of the day, with the odd gust as high as 65kph, has eased now. Maximum dewpoint today a rather high 23C.Been mostly dry since 10am

90mm from the event so far here in Henderson, Waitakere. We haven't really had any clearance, though the rain has backed off to a drizzle and the wind has picked up. Barometer looks to be dropping down at a faster rate in the last hour, currently 995.7 here.

I see its 989 at kerikeri, and the low is still NW of them?
so its relatively deep now

I see wairapa is getting good rain now..drought will be broken for them (and the manawatu was also dry too)

My smoke detectors keep going off... very annoying!
Humid as hell here in Waitakere. (although one assumes hell would be a dry heat)

Hmm, those optical sensor smoke detectors are troublesome. Worse still there are some horror stories online about them not being effective when you need them. I'm staying with my oldies with the radioactive isotope in them. Old but very reliable.

Back to weather, impressive flying by the pilots when I was out earlier, the plane was probably turned 30° into the the wind. Airport must have been close to closing due to the strong crosswind. Wish I wasn't driving and had a video camera at the time. Rain has largely stopped except from the occasional heavy shower.

Steady rain in Tawa since 8 o'clock this morning. 23 mm now.
Low cloud hugging the hilltops, light winds, 72% hum., baro dropping slowly.

17 mm at Mana, north of Porirua.

The team were turned back at Wgtn Railway Station this morning when they cancelled the Wairarapa Airshow.
Gave ourselves a consolation prize of watching a Warbirds over Wanaka DVD instead while staying dry.
Until a downpipe became blocked with leaves and pesky silver birch seed... #-o

Of course Auckland be tops.All models has the most SW roses over Auckland than anywhere else infact the highest roses on whole map of any direction.

It will go S or SW suddenly,what I notice here it starts going to the west then suddenly it will go N or NE for a few minutes as a very gentle breeze to tease then all hell lets loose.
