Maybe the fact that Christchurch needs the resources in the city and any needless fires will take those resources and add to the problems if theres enough.

Its extremely dry here. Everything is turning brown again and the gardens are so thirsty yet we cant water them

Oh ok,has been around here though,had a neighbour who burnt some rubbish a few days ago and then got a phone call to say he'll get fined if he does it again.Orion wrote:That hasn't been the case here for some weeks, Richard.

My understanding is that it includes all fires in the open air - and very strictly interpreted includes cigarettes...
