Muggy day here with no wind today in Westport. No further rain to the 16mm that fell in half an hour to take the total to 20mm. It causes surface flooding around the town but nothing too major as it was short lived. 75mm yesterday so 95mm here over the last two days. May get some heavy showers here overnight and in the morning on the front working its way this time from the south. See Hokitika had 11mm in last hour

the rain, which was heavy, stopped at 10 minutes before 2pm, when I told the wedding party it would stop...
but it was too close to the time, so they went for the indoor location...shame, as it cleared up alot during the afternoon here in Whanganui...

Very thick fog around here this evening, driving-speed down to 20kph at one point! thankfully it became less dense later. Glad it was on quiet roads.

Looks like a polar rodent will race up the country tomorrow with 500mb -30C over eastern areas! Looking like isolated ts and small hail over the lower and eastern North Island. Maybe Taranaki as well.

I have 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 16th.
My readings used to be so similar to Grey Lynn, though often slightly cooler at night. Now Grey Lynn station is usually cooler at night and warmer in the day than my readings. Not sure why! :-k :-k

Rain getting more steady here now and down to 11C, strong gusty southerly just picking up.
The rain has been developing inland and pushing back towards the coast going by the latest rain radars, i think tonight will be another test to see how the grids cope.
Already have problems getting into some websites this afternoon not loading at all, due to a broadband nationwide outage, prob not weather related but still.
