Re: General May weather
Nasty on Auckland's North Shore right now. Intermittently torrential downpours, blustery, dark. I'm supposed to be taking an international visitor sightseeing today. She'll be seeing mainly the inside of the shops, I suspect. 95% humidity and DP 17.5 in my back yard.

Bucketing down in Sth Auckland, visibility down to about 2km in rain, a clap of thunder around 1010. Condensation on the outside of the windows at around 0930 for a while as the temp rose and wind picked up!

Re: General May weather
Had some on/off torrential rain in Orewa.
Winds have definitely picked up.
Temperature has decreased from this morning when it was really warm all of a sudden.
Heard some thunder maybe about 2-3.

Re: General May weather
I didn't hear thunder in the city today, but just got home and mum says we had a thunderstorm around 2pm. Shame I wasn't able to see it or enjoy it. 18mm rain today, NE'er has been gusting up to 60kph, damaged my umbrella...

It is 22C at 8pm here in Wellington.
It feels tropical - it must be some kind of record for this time of year!!
