Remarkables opens tomorrow, It will be the first time they have opened solely as a result of snowmaking.

And good for the Otago fields, Ohau and the Australian fields, all should do well out of this big westerly pattern coming up.

I see Perisher in NSW has received 47cm fresh snow in the past 24hrs.

Mostly very light falls today for the NZ fields but plenty of cold frontal activity on the way over coming days

Queenstown fields,Ohau and Temple Basin in Arthurs Pass to get the most snow.
Mt Hutt lookslike it will be battered by westerly gales and will prob have the least snow this time next week.

15cm at whakapapa
http://www.mtruapehu.com/winter/whakapapa-report/
if they can get 10 to 15cm every day, over the next week, they will be in good shape for the school holidays....then they will need good weather!

Hello! Twizel is having its first snow fall of the season although it is very light and quickly turning to puddles when it strikes the ground. The temperature has been so much higher than average for this time of year that the snow can't possibly linger. It is rather nice to see finally and hopefully the skifields can benefit from it at last.

It's going to be a few days before Treble Cone are able to offer much terrain, despite the serious snowfalls. A base of saturated tussock is providing a consistent and widespread instability, with a lot of releases occurring.

This weather more-or-less looks to continue till Thursday at least.

Just a note, you'll get better performance from the cams if you view them direct through snow.co.nz or the relevant skifield webpages. There have been numerous reports of cam viewers on 3rd party sites crashing recently.

40cm of snow for Mt Dobson from this latest system. Only problem is the wind, a lot of the snow has been blowen off the mountain with the gale westerlies.

And i would think probably Dobson's may have had the least at of all the fields, the mountains around here must be close to two meters, talking with a farmers who's on the way into Lake Sumner last night, he's had 160mm and he's only where you just leave the Amuri plains, there would be far more back in the mountain further.
If you take 1mm of rain = 6mm of wet snow and 10mm for powder, there would have to close to that 2m mark

Thats heaps of rain for that area,Only 26mm here.
I think Mt Hutt would have got the least snow from this system.
