Beautiful sunny day here, humid. I see Metservice lowered the forecast high to 18. Currently 17 here.

Re: Queens Birthday Weekend Weather
Pity the NW change never arrived here today, could have boosted my temp to 20C+ which would have been unusual for June!
Had a light NE'er instead keeping the high to 19C. Lowest humidity this afternoon was 85%

I saw those in the distance. Looks like East Cape may have caught them.great looking CB's way out to the east...
GFS indicates another burst of cb activity tomorrow in the BOP. Activity could start close to Coromandal Peninusula.
Looks to be some surface convergence there tomorrow and 500mb cooling off to -20C while surface dps remain around 15C.

Re: Queens Birthday Weekend Weather
Michael, with regard to public holidays, we only get 8 here in the UK, which is just about the lowest in Europe. They are Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, 2 days in May (May Day and a spring bank holiday at the end of the month) and a late August 'summer' Bank Holiday.
It was the warmest day of the year here in the UK yesterday (saturday), with a top temperature of 28.1*C at Solent, right on the south coast.....it is well protected in NE winds. A few elevated storms developed o/night in Wessex, but have not delivered much rain. Just a few spits of drizzle in the wind here in Milton Keynes and rather chilly in the wind first thing this morning (sunday) with a low o/night of 10*C.

Re: Queens Birthday Weekend Weather
That's England and Wales ... Scotland gets 9 public/bank holidays 2nd January instead of Easter Monday, the summer bank holiday is early August and the extra one is St Andrews Day on 30 Nov.Simon Culling wrote:Michael, with regard to public holidays, we only get 8 here in the UK, which is just about the lowest in Europe. Broken low cloud, light ENE wind and 9°C to start the day here.

Re: Queens Birthday Weekend Weather
Yes Steven you are correct. We are very poorly served by Bank Holidays in England. I think we are joint lowest in Europe.

Re: Queens Birthday Weekend Weather
Surface through passed through this arvo producing a few Cumulus Congestus clouds, most of them turned into the yuck fibbrousy kind later on.
Took a trip down to Tokoroa, couldn't help but notice the new pylons they are putting just after Cambridge on SH1 (apparently these can hold twice the load the other one's can).
