Getting a few local ones here in Kaiapoi now too John, there was a 3.3 just down the road from here i think it was yesterday morning at the Kaiapoi Lakes heard the bugger too good strong but quick shudder through the house.
Just as long as they stay further south thats all good, dont want them creeping further north to those bigger pegasus bay faults.
Although i dont think that will happen the seismic region seems to generally be between the Rakaia and Waimak rivers which is interesting.

Yes, there's that area, I call the "Catherdral Square" in remembrance of the ill-fated catherdral which was a dominant feature for Christchurch.
That's the area from the Ashley River to the Rakaia River in the south to a line from Hororata to Rakaia to along the coast from the Ashley river mouth to Banks Peninisula.
This area should bubble for ages, I think, as everything settles down.

Good shake here at 15:29 from the 4.9 between Rolleston and Burnham. Strongest I've felt one since 27th January.

I agree, there Steven.
Best one so far this year, experienced here, mind you I was away over the late April/may/early June period.
I had lit the fire and whilst getting changed out of my work clothes, the house gave a good jolt and shake, whilst I was changing my underpants  and other items of work related clothing to a more casual gear.
I thought that it may of been in Finlays Road as there has been a 3M earlier, but the location by GetNet seemed to be a bit further.

Its an odd feeling in the car almost as if your motor is throwing a hissy, i was waiting to turn into my driveway and knew it was a shake by looking at the fence and trees shaking.

Yeah, but I am challenging where the source of the quakes are coming from?
The one at 3:30pm felt it was right under the house but the 12.17pm shake on Saturday was probably centred elsewhere because even at 2.83M at 5.12 kms depth, there should of been somesort of noticable earthquake evidence as I was in a situation to be alert to it at the time ?

The earthquakes here seem to be slowing down now to prior September the 4th 2010, standards.
They are still around but much smaller and some a bit deeper.
A good sign I suppose :|

I sure hope you didn't just Jinx the stability there John.

It's about time they got some sense of "it's over at last" down there, so people can rebuild/repair with a little confidence.

I dispute that somewhat, still a regular supply of small shallow creaks and jolts around us here in town, which was nonexistent pre 4/9/10. What has lessened is the Mag 4+ wobbles, which is pleasing.

Just to mention, I've been noticing those very-low-pitched rumbling sounds again the last two or three nights...
