Re: General September Weather
Heavy shower at Whakatane on the way home about 5pm, made the next job at Awakeri under a MDU very uncomfortable lying on the wet ground.
Otherwise a good day.

Stars glittering in a clear sky; temp. falling, now -3.3 degrees; a measured 3 inches of snow; seems to have been wetter snow than the other week as it's coating trees both bare and evergreen. (Sorry, blossoms) Very crisp and crunchy out there.

Snow showers here overnight Nothing settled though, Seems as if the main rain band bypassed South Canterbury.
Looks like a good fall around the Methven area.

Re: General September Weather
Must have been a dam good hail shower in the Weka pass area yesterday evening as well, driving through there this morning there was big blobs of the white stuff that had flowed and banked up at the down hill end of a few culverts.
Thought we may have be in for a frost tonight but there's a mod to strong NW wind outside now, hope it keeps up,temp 7.2deg

Re: General September Weather
Why these silly highs expand and contract forever in the tasman then race away to the east so quickly?

I don't want to see it at all. The current dry sunny conditions will do fine, thank you.

Re: General September Weather
Looks like an extended period of NW winds likely for eastern New Zealand later this week for a few days thanks to the lows dominating in the Tasman. Think we may see 20 degrees being hit in some areas.

Re: General September Weather
Looks like a high dominates this week and a major system coming in for the weekend. Maybe some instability in the west and north with next weekends trough but too early for predictions.

Re: General September Weather
A big weekend coming up for NewZealand with the start of Rugby World Cup, the above average temperatures ahead of the trough system later in the week will be nice.
