Saturday October 1 may not be so bad for Eden Park now with a ridge holding the Tasman Sea weather back. Looks like a mod to freash ENE with cloudy conditions. The ENE wind is usually not a bad wind direction south of the harbour bridge.

The England team have been inside for 3 weeks so will have forgotten how to play wet weather rugby.

Looks like cloudy dry weather for the semi-finals in Auckland this weekend, I will go with southwest flow around high pressure.

I dont put a lot of faith in seasonal outlooks. :-)

Some weak troughing for the weekend so there looks to be the chance of some showers

Excellent news from the gfs, looks like it should be dry Saturday and Sunday nights. We'll have a weak ridge over us with the risk of showers in the west but fine at Eden Park by the looks.

Labour weekend and the final looks the same too according to ecmwf....pretty much the same anticyclone ridge regrouping.

Both GFS and ECMWF suggest a good chance of dry weather for the Final and Bronze Final this weekend.

Looks like the summer ridge arrives this weekend! But given a moist onshore flow under the inversion, should see plenty of stratocumulus with just a slight chance of a drizzly shower in the west.

Nothing to ruin a Rugby game which is great news.
Yes, more ridging onto us from now with the summer Low forming over northern Australia. Auckland weather tends to be cloudier until December with the stable southwesterlies. La Nina may bring in the humid summer easterlies earlier this season as it did last year.

The All Blacks will win judging on the weather on the day of their games (sunny windless has on each at eden park) and the weather inbetween both the day prior and the day after been unsettled and sunday appears this way too.

GFS however shows air too stable for showers, the inversion quite close to the surface. Looks like am low clouds burning away in the afternoon.

I agree 20pts to the ABs

6 months ago if you had to make a forecast for Auckland for today it would have been, southwest breeze , cloud, isolated light showers possible, afternoon sunny spells possible, min 13C ,max 18C.

Hopefully the AllBlacks have a win tonight and the game is a good game unlike the boring bronze final which I think did confirm the AllBlacks are the best team in this tournament.
