Sitting on 17.2 at the moment with a 25km/h NE which isnt bad going for this time of year and that wind direction. Slight shift towards NNW will see a very impressive temperature today I would imagine.

First warm night here for a while, current temp 15C, dewpoint 13C, a couple of brief very light showers here so far this weekend, looks like the main rain action comes in tomorrow.

Yes that high cloud is keeping a lid on things from getting very warm. Very nice and mild day. Here is hoping though that tomorrow through to Tuesday evening brings some solid rain as it is needed!

Updated: Reached 23 here now, still no sun though

An outside chance of some heavy rain here tomorrow morning. Although latest GFS has pulled this back its still a hit/miss prospect. Would be good for the gardens though as we need a lot more than what we have managed to get today. ie. Approx 2mm

I noticed your posting this morning that's why I said what I said.
Interesting how these odd unorthodox occurences do occur in situations where you may not to expect them?

Yer but i much prefer it when you can see the storm coming.

Well the rain has eased off here and doesn't look to be a hell of a lot more to come, maybe a odd shower during today, certainly wont be anything like whats in the forecast.21mm so far

The GFS has had a bit mood swing overnight for Saturday here. Perhaps a fluke run, havent seen quite such a change in a while so quickly for something only 3 or so days out...

Yes i noticed that on metvuw too that some reasonable amounts of rain are looking likely.
On top of whats already fallen that should see Canterbury set up well going into summer =D>

Yes indeed. Although seems it was a fluke run. GFS has backed right off from that. Tony and Blue Skies saying 40-60mm possible.

Surface paddock water around rangiora so no shortage of soil moisture here, now we just need to get rid of these crap cold days.
Ever since they gave the climate outlook its been the opposite here.
