I am picking up strikes to my SE..rain radar shows it could be just west of the hauraki plains ?

very wet at Auckland university this morning - constant soaking rain. Not so much at home in Howick (yet)

Its been intermittent today,periods of rain very dark almost like near night fall here.

Brighter weather arriving here now.
Dewpoint temperatures around 15C for the last few days have given the weather a very mild feel, Oct will be a little warmer than average to date here so far.

good storm just off the east cape coast.

heavy rain falling in and around hamilton as that patch of heavy rain has moved down from auckland to here.

Nice storm here late this arvo, looks to have intensified as its tracked North. Heavy rain with localised flooding no hail here but will be interesting if Hasting North coped it.

Cold cored cumulus congestus out there this morning, producing scattered showers, around the area. Fairly unstable looking. 8.8Â°C SFC Temp atm (hence the showers being cold cored)

Cell developed quickly here, passed over heavy rain mixed with small hail. Largest would have been 5mm. Frequent thunder.
