Interesting obviously some storms around Cheviot earlier on with purple and red on the radar there, nothing too interesting here though.

Still beautiful blue dome skies in the area with a gusty southerly up to 50km.h and sitting on 21 degrees at the airport. Here 22.6 degrees and a southerly but no where near that strong. Around 30km.h tops.

Yes 54mm in last 2 hours! Still going down at a rate. The local station up there isnt reading as high as that but its going up very quickly still and peak rain rates have reached 150mm/h.

Takaka still very heavy rain there also with 109mm there.

We have 2 paddox waiting for the bayler and he can't do it tonight, so I'm hanging in there for the rain to hold off until tomorrow when he can do it.
Interesting to see a strong cold, nuisance South to SW wind here this afternoon with no cloud to the south but a increase of cloud to the north with some 'blow-ups' noted. I can understand a 'clap or 2' around you area, Richard. :D
The new radar scan showed some red blipps when you posted.
Musta been a low development around BP for the windy south to SW winds

8-o wow thats a lot of rain alright

Been funny old weather here today, took the kids to the Hurunui river for a swim, while down there it came up looking really threatening so we thought best to head home, while driving on the north side of the bridge we hit amazing cloud burst, other motorists had pulled over because it was so heavy, got to the other side of the bridge and nothing.

The photo below was taken at 5.00pm,thought we were in for some T&L going by how nasty it was looking, but no just rain

Constant SW or Southerly here which is quite good as it is keeping the northerly oncoming rain away, but clouding over, increasing the slight humidity on the ground, as the temperature drops away. o_O

Had it organized over a weekago but the local contractor has been going 'flat tack', sadly.
I'm not worrying though. Neighbours have there's done, so can get a supply off them, if ours is no good.

I see 105mm fell at Kerikeri Aero yesterday, and 82mm at Alan's Kerikeri site.

A very welcome 23.5mm here also from yesterday's front, including a few parting salvoes early this morn - just 2mm shy of Nov's meager total. Interesting that Grey Lynn only managed 11mm.

Sunshine is what we want to see today, the heating will get the local convergences going and bring the thunder chance.

A humid morning with the dewpoint 18C, currently 19C, sun trying hard to make an appearance
