Yes, a cloudy start to summer here.
I see thunder possibilities for the NorthIsland Sun - Tues with a low pressure system crossing NZ early next week, no doubt there will be some model change before then but atleast some interesting weather on the horizon for a change

Yes nice morning indeed. 19 degrees currently with an ENE wind keeping the temperature in check a little, however no where near as strong or fresh as yesterday. Forecast is for the NE to die away so mid 20's are on the cards with the intensity of todays beaming sun.

Cloud/sunny spells here, 20C. The northeast breeze and a lowish dewpoint around 11C giving our weather a fresh cool feel for the past couple of days.

A 28deg max here today with the NW much lighter this evening than around the middle of the day,mild night coming up

Another blue dome skies start to the morning, this time no NE! Infact, very little to no wind at all currently and sitting on 21 degrees already. Some real heat in the sun.

Interestingly its been a light southerly breeze here all day getting up to 26 at the airport, 28 at jeffs. A ENE has just developed and the temperature has dropped from 28 to 25.6 just like that.

31deg here and boy it feels it too,this warmth is really starting to dry the area out so looking to Sun/ Mon/Tues for some rain hopefully.

In CHCH today for shopping and it was warm in there alright but it was much warmer here when we get home,but i see the MS website has Culverden 2deg cooler on 23deg

A very pleasant day here & in Ashburton, something over 28 degrees [29+ according to my car thermometer].
Just now a wee southeast breeze stirring the pines, and providing some welcome coolth, at 24.9 deg.

Looks like a bit of a muggy day today for the north.

latest run of the gfs has chopped back the instability tomorrow. But the airmass is very moist with dp17C and 500mb temps not that warm -15C. So potential is there for convection on the front.

Another great start to the day. 23.2 degrees in my area with a very light NE breeze.

Warm overnight low of 21deg here, see CHCH and Ashburton were the same also,hoping for some rain today but no sign of any yet.

Still very light patchy drizzle here but looking at the radar images for Tauranga @ 10am it certainly looks interesting as it clearly shows a rain band drifting west and blotchy showers drifting east probably to clash in the Kaimais...

26 degrees here now with a light WSW. ANother stunning morning. Local weather station is running 3.2 degrees warmer than December this year at the same time.

Update: Moderate SW - gusting to 40km.h at the airport but temp remaining steady on 24 degrees. Not as windy here with max gusts to around 20km/h.

So thats what producing the convergence line of cloud between here and CHCH,some of which are now looking rather tall,its a NNE wind of about 10-15 kmh and 26.5deg at the moment.
