Possible Storms 8th Jan, South Auckland to Mid Waikato

I see that M/S has issued a moderate risk for thunderstorms today over the central to northern Waikato today (including South Auckland)
Im not so sure about the setup due to the +LI situation but and warmish upper air.

Although I will be pleasantly surprised if there is something.....

Warm upper air over relatively poor surface conditions is what I see. q-
