yup Cbs are starting to go up to the north, but TCu is started to take more shape around here.

Bring on the the thunder :D

I will be heading out for a chase this arvo if convection is good enough....

Big drops of rain just started here in Conifer Grove with distant thunder. Still a light easterly here but across at the airport it's a sea breeze.

WOW, -5 lifted index on the 18z round of the GFS around the Waipa District, a LI that low hasnt appeared in the forecast for a long time!

CAPE topping 1400j/kg! This is getting really exciting now ;)

explosive convection in this tower, had a very tornadic looking base for a while, preceeded by a funnel before the convection really took off

Too far east to hear the thunder here at the moment. That Kaipara storm is severe-warned now - very heavy rain and large hail

Maybe I'm just getting over-excited, but the base of the CB I can see out my front window looks for all the world like it has a wall cloud. Can't tell if there is rotation though.

ETA: Gone now. Good thunder though!
