Flip those western cells are pumping it, heaps of lightning going by the boltek, and getting heavy going by radar echo's.

Re: Thunder possible this week starting 13th Feb
Just came back from Whangarei, torrential rain in some places and localised flooding. Saw one lightning strike in the middle of a field 1km from us on the road.

Its turned to rubbish here in Hamilton, CB's all dying at the same time.
the odd tower still going up however, not sure if tonight will be eventful due to the lack of a upper trough.....

Here's the culprit. Pretty cool how it seems to be casting a shadow on the high cloud around it?

Looking North West towards the Waitakere's from Papakura, seeing a nice development going up over the last hour. It's showing up on the metservice rain radar now.

The west Auckland cell now severe warned - still plenty of thunder, and fairly heavy rain at times. The cell appears to be near stationery, we may get a significant amount of rain out of it.

Re: Thunder possible this week starting 13th Feb
back home now,as waikato did not look to be doing alot
great chasing around pukekohe
big show at home while I was away....talked to a neighbour that had their house struck by lightning , they saw the sparks and all
and another closer neighbour the lightning set off the alarm, etc!
would be good if the west auckland cb keeps going until dark

Huge cell here, massive amounts of rain pouring from it into the valley, heard one loud clap of thunder, looks really threatening!
