We had some okay weather in February but that doesn't make a summer.

Even with older records going back to 1907, it was still Wellington's cloudiest summer, despite the extra day.

However Blenheim's almost unbelieveably low 139 hours of sunshine in February (average 227, previous low 160) was probably the standout of the summer, in terms of sun anomalies. Tekapo very much better with 267 Dec, 300 Jan and 203 Feb.
