Snow to low levels - May 15-18
Just heard Richard Green from weather watch talking about the possibilty of snow to sea level southland otago and around 100-200m for Canterbury. Still along way out but will keep an eye on it.

MetService now agreeing with this, forecasting snow to low levels for the Dunedin rural area on Wednesday.

Metservice only forecasting snow for the high country, even though still a cold southerly. Blue Skies going for snow in the far south though.

Brief then coastal for Canterbury..just the usual southwest flick for here

Yea the Southerly flow went more SW. just a flick for inland need a blocking high to the east which would stall it and send it more southerly. Maybe next time

There was light snow down to around 500-600m here overnight with a dusting at Tekapo.

Snow on the hills here this morning, probably down to 300-400m. Odd shower still passing by too

Looks like this system is going to hang around abit longer than first anticipated. Another front from the same storm friday by the looks.
