Steady rain here, just heard the first wee burst of thunder (as I was typing that nothing heard as yet)

action ramping up a bit out over the gulf have seen a few awesome flashes out over towards tiri

Most of the lighting is north of here now, think it will slide down east of me...

Really bright flashes, WAY off to the south, south east, not the usual flicker but more like some one turning the light switch off and on. No more thunder heard since the small rumble at 17:36.

The live satellite link to Thames on Campbell live cut out, just before it cut out you could hear the thunder coming through the TV.

Just had torrential rain here, 10mm in 13 minutes!! Saw a couple of distant lightning flashes out to the NE but no thunder heard.

getting good strikes from those CB's in the gulf/coromandel
next shower line looks good too
saw the CB after it passed here when it moved into the waikato on the way into waiuku
looked great with the setting sun shining on the anvil
edit, my boltec plotted a strike near you David...
edit, BOP getting good strikes now too (to be expected)
