Re: General June Weather
Still heavy fog here in ChCh, as it has been all morning
We are running on an average temp of around the 5 degree mark so far for the whole month, some warmer days may be ahead though?
Luckily there have only been a couple of days where frosts have been possibile due to precipitation or cloud, so I think it could have been a lot worse

Re: General June Weather
The fog was quite heavy out Burnham way, I'd rather be driving in the snow again than the fog this morning at 7.30am. Could only see two lamp posts in front of me on Burnham Road. I've just come across an old video tape of the winter snow of August 1992 and the flooding which followed. Quite interesting seeing the footage of the city - not to mention the old advertisements from back in those days.Razor wrote:Still heavy fog here in ChCh, as it has been all morning

Re: General June Weather
The general weather pattern ahead has a more unstable look to it now after a fairly dry start to Winter here.
Greylynn has had only 20.6mm so far for June, the Ak June average is 139mm.

Re: General June Weather
Murky day here all day, reminded me of the first 6 or so days when we first arrived in England, although it was a bit more milder, slightly.
Very quite today, on the thunderstorm front. no reports coming in ???
According to Jim on last night's weather and on the radio this morning, there was lots of thunderstorm potential for the NI. ???

Speaking of wind, the NW wind kicked in here at about 3.00pm,and how pleasant it was to have a mild dry wind

Re: General June Weather
Damned right. The month started with a sunshine surplus - but the last 5-7 days put paid to that, now we're actually in a deficit. Don't know how long you've been in Wellington, but don't judge its sun by the last few months, or even the last couple of years. 2010 was 100 hours below the 30-year average (55 below long-term), and 2011 was 155 hours below (110 ....). And with the cloudy Jan-March we got off to a bad start this year as well. Currently 100 below average, some gain was made in April and May.kiwisk8er wrote:First sunny day here in what feels like forever. Back to the rain and wind again tomorrow.
