Re: General July Weather
I see NIWA's Rangiora site managed 22.6C yesterday - a July record for that particular 13-year-old site, but not sure how it compares with older sites?

Re: General July Weather
Typically in July the highs bring cold air masses with them but this one is the opposite.

Re: General July Weather
very interesting morning. No ice at my place as i was sitting around 2 degrees and lots of thick fog. On my way to work i cleared the fog and at work (close to Tims place) it was icy and just light fog.

Re: General July Weather
The current warm weather pattern must be a concern for our ski fields. I see Coronet Peak has suspended night skiing due to warm weather. http://www.scene.co.nz/queenstown-night ... 648a1.page They had rain at the weekend without the usual follow up cold air.
I see July has been a little cooler than normal for Auckland, next week should be mild here.

Re: General July Weather
A cooler end to the week for northern areas , temperatures recover early next week as new low pressure system moves in from the Tasman bringing rain/showers to much of the country.

Re: General July Weather
Looks quite nippy today in the south on the 850mb temperature chart! That cold air will move north with the ridge.
