40mm here now. Nothing overly heavy though, just persistent light rain - moderate at times. Looks like we have seen the last of the rain for a while as nothing coming in from the sea anymore.

100mm here now. Still coming down heavy but not as much as earlier.
Had to go down to Albury earlier on and the flooding was starting to get serious down there with parts of the road underwater and rivers and creeks flowing though normally dry paddocks.

Re: Heavy Rain & Sth'n Snow, Deep Tasman Low - Jul 29-Aug 3
There has been alot of rain down there snowstormwatcher, have been keeping an eye on river levels and rain gauges in the area.
Since yesterday morning, 168.5mm at Geraldine forest, 103.5 in Blandswood (foot of Peel Forest) and 165 at Mount Frances.
Opihi has gone from something like 3 or 4 cubic metres per second yesterday morning to currently 948 cubic metres per second and is still rising, staggering. I'm not sure what levels constitue a really high level and will begin to flood surrounding areas but that's gotta be high.
Cheers
Aaron

Not surprised there's been that much snowstormwatcher, radar been showing consistent blue all day.
Rains got heavy here now which doesn't show up much on the radar.

No action down Omarama way. All we've had is on-again-off-again light drizzle since yesterday. Some wind, but certainly nothing approaching storm strengths, and it's calm again now.

Just the norm for here really maximum 20mm so far, intermix of light rain and thick drizzle but some periods of moderate rain through out the day.
Not a major event north of Rakaia this one, wont be more than another 10-15mm in the next few days.

No rain at all here overnight. Not sure why Metservice are persisting with heavy falls easing for Christchurch. 43mm for the event. Stars are out.

Looks like the airmass over northern areas will be a bit more moist in the next fews days.
Isolated pulse thunderstorms look possible tomorrow.
There could be a heavy rain risk for Bay of Plenty Friday or Saturday, models hinting at that.
