Looks like rain comes in later Tuesday for northern areas and persists through Wednesday.
Looking quite moist in the far north with dps 15C so some heavy thundery falls on the cards there.

Re: General September Weather
Another stunner day out there, and i am surprised to see CU towering away inland along the ranges so early in the season.
Might be a few evening showers up that way but if it was summer would definatly be isolated storms.

Nice but weak convergence cloud moving across from the NE at 4pm, with a NE change following.
Been light southerly here all day.

I liked the stripes in that satellite pic.
Reminded me of those stripey sugar cane things you used to get in your Christmas stocking

Don't say that Steve.03Stormchaser wrote:Hmm Saturday could be a chase day given the last model runs, will be fun if does eventuate with the CWW meet!
I remember having a MetSoc meeting at our house in ChCh in the 1990s, when lightning was observed to the south and half of the people who came, buggered off, leaving Andrea and I, and a few that didn't take off, too eat all the cheese on toast that we had made.

Still a possiblity for Wednesday / Thursday. Will be interesting if Metservice think there is a risk. Sunday or Monday as you say look better but it is along way out still.

High of 20 degrees here. Very nice day with a light NE wind. Should be a milder night as well with 16 degrees now and high cloud cover.

Re: General September Weather
I notice the UKmet has 14-15C dps over the north including Auckland on Friday while the GFS takes the moisture away with just 10-11C dps.
